So its been a while since I’ve posted. That’s not to say there hasn’t been enough activity in the stuff I cover - including two a new MSTRKRFT remix [the second one is by Al-P, one half of MSTRKRFT], as well as the new Weezer album and video.
But more recently hitting the music blogs, is a partial leak of MGMT’s Electric Feel remixed by Justice. Now, as the The Tape points out, Justice and MGMT are two things that make us Hype Machine users go “batshit” - which is pretty accurate seeing as MGMT or Justice are sure to be on the “most searched for” list on the Hype Machine at any time.1
MGMT has that indie feel to them, but as many people have pointed out they also have a certain aspect that makes you think “These guys could be something big“. Hailing from Brooklyn, the group have a unique sound comprised of a strange mix of Indie/Dance-Punk/Electronic and Alternative.
The remix features some of Justice’s signature bass, which I love with all my heart. At first the track just seemed too distorted, however after a few listens, the bass really comes through more than the distortion and it grows on you.
